Grouper fish have been known to grow 14 feet in length and weigh as much as 1300 lbs! And those aren’t just the outliers, Atlantic Goliath Groupers in general are no laughing matter. Usually reaching up to 8 feet long, with an average weight of around 800 pounds these are a fish that is not to be trifled with especially when you’re in their element!

Hell, this one didn’t care whether or not he got a whole human hand in the process, as long as he got his own fish dinner! If you want a challenge catching one of these guys, be prepared for a battle, just remember two things:
Reeling in and decking an 800 pounder can be something else
You can’t take her home, so catch and release!
