Who’s Ready for Round 2
Yuri Grisendi, one of the world’s most esteemed catfish anglers has a new mission on his mind. Catching more than huge catfish isn’t the greatest feat for him anymore. I think he decided to up the ante when he used a tiny spinning rod and a small boat. This monster fought them for a whole ten minutes through the brush before the camera came on. Once they got into a clearing Michael, his buddy, started filming.
[It’s] hooked in the back, not in the mouth but the back.”
Not only has Yuri added the first level of difficulty but this massive catfish just added it’s own. Given the size of this fish hooking the back of it does nothing for control. Anytime the fish squirms there is very little to do about it.
Moving to Plan B
After 30 minutes of pure fight the catfish calms down, it seems to be getting tired. The only move Yuri planed for is to get a hook in the mouth so he can get a better vantage with his hands. The hook eventually finds it’s way in the catfish’s mouth, and he pulls as hard as he can!
What a Prize!
Grisendi pulls the monster onto the boat. It nearly takes up the entire width of the boat! This “pig” weighs a staggering 260 pounds (seems Yuri has a knack for this number), and about 8ft long. Once the measurements were concluded this duo massaged water back into the lungs and let this amazing catfish swim home.
We’ve seen his efforts before, but man this is one impressive spectacle that still leaves me speechless. You can find more content on Yuri Grisendi here! As well as a rough translation of the banter here!
